What People Are Saying
“In my years as the editor of Sharing the Victory magazine (now FCA Magazine), I was always looking for quality content that we could share through our ministry’s daily Impact Play devotion. Leo Sayles was one of our finest contributors. As a coach himself, he truly understood the competitive mindset and how to turn athletic situations into spiritual and life lessons. Whenever I saw that Leo had sent a new devotion, I knew it would be one worth sharing immediately. I’m thankful for his gift of writing that corresponds with his gift of coaching and hope that each devotion in this book brings new insight and blessing to the lives of the readers.”
“I worked closely with Coach Sayles for three years when he was coaching volleyball and I was coaching women’s basketball at a college. Not only is the content in this book insightful and inspiring but I know it is genuine from being around him. Coach Sayles is a class-act, who loves the Lord. He has a sincere desire to see people transformed. This book is a must-own for anyone that desires to walk closer with the Lord.”

Coach Sayles has found that perfect balance of simple yet powerful with this book. The stories he shares are ones we can all relate to, and the way he ties it into Biblical lessons is impeccable. This book has become part of my daily routine and I imagine it will be that way for many years to come.
Outstanding book! Great stories that relate sport and our relationship with God. I liked the questions after each devotion that provoked thoughtful consideration and application. As I’m blessed to know the author personally, I know that the themes and messages written in the book are not only believed by Leo, but lived out on a daily basis. I’ve benefitted for years by spending time with him and getting to know his heart, and I’m thrilled that everyone that reads this book can be positively impacted as well.
“I made a mistake in reading Coach Sayles’ book…Reading his words was certainly no mistake, but trying to read something this deep and inspired all at once was like trying to drink from a fire hose! With so many wonderful ideas and challenging thoughts, this is a book that should be taken in daily bites with note pad in hand. If you are involved in sports and/or the mentoring of people, you owe it to your own growth and development to allow God to work on your heart through this book. I have no doubt that I will be going back through these devotions multiple times and look forward to applying and passing on these vital messages!” ,
